About the Trainer – Laura Harvey (MA Cantab)
Laura Harvey is a certified trainer with the Centre for Nonviolent Communication™. She collaborates as part of a group of facilitators who lead open access workshops in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) across the UK. She has worked widely in the UK in this capacity for more than sixteen years, especially in the North of England, particularly Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield. She is now based in Oxford.
NVC Focus: A programme of public training and bespoke in-house consultancies.
Bespoke one-to-one, couples and family work
In addition to teaching the process as developed by Marshall Rosenberg, she is also trained in facilitating the NVC Dance Floor technology – a kinesthetic approach to learning NVC, and Convergent Facilitation - an application of NVC which supports collaborative decision-making in settings where purpose and "getting things done" is the primary focus. She enjoys applying this in organisations, workplaces and with social change groups and initiatives.

Background: Concurrent with her training activities in NVC, Laura has worked in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Uganda and Brazil. She has 20 years’ experience in UK arts and NGO sectors, as a facilitator, writer and teacher in many different settings. In 2003 she ran the first NVC training in Cambodia. She is currently collaborating on an initiative to raise awareness of global GBV issues in the UK and beyond.
