Jo McHale
Name: Jo McHale
Location: South East England, England
I made the transition from clarinet teaching and performing to studying psychology and then occupational psychology. After a spell in organisational design in local government and then four years in a government funded research organisation, I became self-employed with two main strands of work: running soft-skills training courses for a consultancy in London and creating multi-media learning materials in all manner of subjects.
Discovering NVC in 1998 opened up a new perspective on interpersonal skills and gave me the framework that led eventually to focusing on conflict in its various forms - internal, between couples or in groups. I am part of the Conflict Transformation Weave, the purpose of which is to encourage people in the NVC community to walk towards conflict
I am also engaged in a long term project with a colleague in Cleveland, Ohio, about how to make work and organisations function as living systems as defined by Fritjof Capra. NVC is subtly interwoven into this.
I also run a fortnightly NVC Practice Group.
