The aim of the NVC-UK website is to provide a UK-based library service, giving information to the general public about Nonviolent Communication (NVC), originally developed by Marshall Rosenberg. This helps to link together people in the UK wishing to learn or live the principles of NVC with those offering trainings and events. The site offers you access to NVC facilitators, resources, events, nvc-related news, practice groups, and a variety of activities happening across the UK. You can read our terms and conditions here.
Your privacy matters to us. This policy sets out how NVC-UK .com website uses and protects any information that you provide when you use parts of our website.

Data Handling, Processing and Security
The information collected from you is the personal information you provide for NVC-UK to process your requests and bring you services that may be of interest to you.
You can rest assured that all communication between your browser and this website is hosted in a secure UK based data centre and the software used is kept up-to-date.
Cookies
Like many websites, our site uses cookies. These track use of the site and give you the best user experience. A cookie is a small file, which asks for permission to be placed on your computer hard drive. If you register as a customer the website will remember you the next time you visit. You can turn off cookies and any website tracking within your web browser by going to internet options – privacy. If you do this, you will be unable to place an order or benefit from some of the other features provided by this website. NVC-UK website uses cookies to:
- Take and fulfil customer product orders, membership requests, renewals and your updates for events etc.,
- Analyse data about webpage traffic to help us improve the way the site meets your needs. The service we use for this is provided by google analytics.
Membership
NVC-UK .com website offers different categories of membership, each providing a different level of service: Supporter, Certified Facilitator, Other Facilitator, NVC Organiser
If you apply for membership, you will be asked to give the information necessary to process your application including, but not limited to, your name, title, physical address, telephone number, and email address. Your account information will be stored on this website through our Ultimate Member plug-in and your email address is transferred to a mailing list which is managed by MailChimp. You will receive emails about your membership, keeping you up-to-date with your membership status, our terms and conditions of service and membership renewal.
The application process to join the website as an “Other Facilitator” uses a Google Form to collect the information. It will be stored in password protected folder on Google Drive. This information will be only kept for as long as you are a member.
Members’ names, email addresses and phone numbers are recorded in our Accounting spreadsheet which is stored in Google Drive, which is password protected.
Your payment information for membership is processed either by direct bank transfer or by a cheque posted to the Treasurer. We never have access to your credit card or other personal information.
If you decide not to continue your membership, your personal data will be removed from the database at the end of the membership year.
Product Purchases
When you purchase a product from our online shop you will be asked to give the information necessary to process your order including, but not limited to, your name, title, physical address, telephone number, email address. Your account information will be stored on this website as part of our Ultimate Member customer accounts system, Woo-commerce.
Your payment information for a service is processed through PayPal (see pay pal privacy policy) We never have access to your credit card or other personal financial information.
News
You can subscribe to our mailing list to receive our newsletter. It contains NVC news, events (and occasional product) information. You can unsubscribe any time simply by pressing the unsubscribe button in any email. Our mailing list is managed by MailChimp.
Surveys
At times we may send you a survey as a way of us determining how our service is meeting your needs and see if you have suggestions for improvement. Any responses received are used to helps us improve our service. We use survey monkey.

This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by this website. NVC-UK website contains links to other websites that we do not control eg Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin (“Third Party Sites”). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these other sites. We advise that, if you follow a link and leave this website, you read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information.

Your information will not be sold, reused, rented or disclosed to any third parties.
You are entitled to see any information held about you and may request any necessary changes to ensure that it is accurate and kept up-to-date.
Your information is retained for a reasonable period or as long as the law requires or permits.
Our site is a general audience site and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. While our website may be viewed by children, we do not wish to receive data from children. No information should be submitted to, or posted at, our web site by visitors under 18 years of age without the written consent of their parent or guardian.
