We warmly welcome you to this special international evening — a joyful celebration of how the tools of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) are being shared and lived across the globe.

NVC offers a powerful way of communicating that transforms how we relate — both within ourselves and with others. Whether navigating our own inner dialogue or building deeper connections in our relationships, NVC helps us move from reactivity to presence, from disconnection to genuine understanding.

The Giraffes Around the World event is part of a larger gathering: the International Intensive Training (IIT) in Nonviolent Communication — a 9-day immersion in learning and discovering ways of contributing to a more peaceful world. IITs take place across the globe, led by International Trainer Teams alongside participants from many nations. Durham City has been chosen to host one of just 8 global IITs this year — and we couldn’t be more delighted to welcome you!

The Giraffes Around the World evening offers people local to Durham a chance to hear inspiring stories of how NVC is being used in a remarkable range of settings — from the United Nations and the NHS, to schools, organisations, and family homes.

Come and speak with people who bring a wealth of experience in helping individuals and organisations transform disconnection into connection, stuckness into flow, and misunderstanding into clarity. Together, we explore how communities and workplaces can thrive through a culture of empathy, honesty, and genuine human connection.
