Candidate Practice Days

Dear  fellow certification candidates and trainers

I’d like to invite you to an experiment in learning and community building.

During the recent NVC Global Online festival I heard someone quote Marshall in saying that the way to really live and integrate this precious thing we call NVC is firstly to set the intention to do so, then surround yourself with a community of others who want the same, and finally - practice, practice, practice.

It reminded me of the roleplays, FAQs and workshops I saw candidates participating in during the recent assessment event in Baarlo, Netherlands and how much learning there was for me being in that community even just witnessing others practicing in that way.

I guess some of us have had our fill of Zoom calls lately what with all that’s going on in the world, but I wonder if we might be able to use our new fluency with such technologies to spend some time together as a community, with the intention of learning together and finding rich ways to support our integration of NVC consciousness.

I’ve spoken to Shona and Gina who are excited about the idea and we’ve found some dates which could work. We wanted to make it open primarily to candidates for certification (and those in the process of registering as candidates), but also open the offer to any certified or independent trainers who would like to participate as well.

When? 

Intended as one offering split over two half days

Friday 11th September 2020, 9.30am - 1.30pm (UK time, BST)

Saturday 12th September 2020, 9.30am - 1.30pm (UK time, BST)

(Screen-time breaks included)

Where? 

Online, on Zoom

How much?

£90 is what we thought to ask - and we’re open to more or less, and to be in dialogue around the amount. There will also be the opportunity to make an additional payment after the gathering if you feel moved to do so.

What’s involved? 

• Community time - Some co-creating of our space and group care agreements An exploration of how we give and receive feedback

• Lots of opportunities for practicing - Roleplays Answering questions frequently asked during trainings Empathic listening (with coaching from assessors) Giving mini-workshops, getting feedback
• Possibly a Q&A session with assessors if there is desire for it

 

Who’s it for? 

We imagine the following groups of people would enjoy to come - all are welcome to practice and to give and receive feedback.

• Any certification candidate (or anyone currently registering as a candidate) in the English-Speaking European Assessment Team network,

• Certified Trainers,

• Independent Trainers

As you might be able to tell, we’re very much in the prototype stage and excited to give it a try together and co-create as a community as we go.
