Calderdale NVC Community Day
4th Aug 2024 - 4th Aug 2024
10.30am - 3pm
£0-£50
Led by: Tom Wilkinson | Contact Tom

A gathering of local Nonviolent Communication practice groups, practitioners, dabblers and Jedi-masters.
It’s often remarked during practice group sessions and workshops that those present experience a rare depth of connection while in these in ‘NVC spaces’. Our community day will be an opportunity to spend time together as a wider community to connect, have fun and share some food in a beautiful outdoor space.
Activities for the day will include games, sharing circles, empathy time and a picnic lunch. Very light, gentle and relaxed, with space for rest and chatting too.
Hosted up on a small patch of land in the wooded hills between Hebden Bridge and Todmorden, with lots of space to play, chat, soak up some sun and shelter from the showers. We plan to organise shared lifts up to the site and back again from Hebden Bridge.
Although we’re calling the event a ‘Calderdale’ NVC community day, it’s for anyone who has some connection to the NVC community here, so don’t worry if you want to come along but don’t actually live locally.
We’re not intending this to be a training event, and for ease it would help if everyone had some shared base-level understanding of NVC… As such, we’re asking that anyone who comes along has engaged in some learning of NVC previously, whether that be in a Foundation Training, practice group or self-guided study.
Dogs and children are very welcome, as long as they are accompanied at all times by their guardians.
The invitation is to bring something to share as part of a vegan potluck lunch, though please do feel free to bring your own packed lunch if that works better for you for any reason.
To support the organising and holding of the event, we ask for a donation of anywhere from £0 – £50 for the day for each adult attendee, with £0 being absolutely ok if that’s the limit of what’s possible or what feels best.
We’ll also send a link out in the follow-up email which will allow for donations to be made after the event, in case that is a better fit for you.
Any questions please get in touch!
