Building Restorative Systems for Transforming Conflict (BRS)

We in the Conflict Transformation Weave are on a mission to encourage people to embrace rather than fear conflict. And we believe that this is more likely to happen when a group or community has an agreed way of addressing conflict when it arises. In service of this, we designed our online programme Building Restorative Systems for Transforming Conflict. We have already run this eight times, extending its scope from its original six weeks to the current 10 weeks format.

We cover:

• the setup and maintenance of a system
• how to harness the buy in and energy of key people in a community
• developing a mindset that embraces conflict

We also include practice some of the key skills needed to:

• set up, support and facilitate dialogue, mediations and restorative circles
• stay grounded and calm in the presence of intense pain and hurt, anger and disappointment
• guide people towards making agreements that will help restore broken relationships.
