An 8-Week Training Based on Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
If you’re longing for:
- More connection and less conflict
- Greater confidence in difficult moments
- Tools that support both compassion and clear boundaries
- A sense that you’re not alone in your struggles
You are most welcome!
Being With Children can be deeply rewarding — and incredibly challenging. If you ever find yourself reacting in ways you later regret, struggling with conflict, or longing for more ease and connection with your children, this course is for you!
Being with Children is an 8-week, gentle and practical introduction to Nonviolent Communication, designed especially for those who have children in their lives; parents, teachers, grandparents, health care providers, aunts, uncles. No previous experience is needed.
Together we will explore:
- How to stay connected in the middle of stress.
- Understanding the feelings and needs behind behavior (yours and the child’s).
- Listening with empathy instead of fixing or correcting.
- Expressing boundaries and requests without blame or punishment.
- Navigating conflict and power struggles with more clarity and care.
Each session includes demonstrations, guided practice, and time to share real-life experiences in small, supportive groups.
This course offers:
- A safe, non-judgmental learning space.
- Practical tools you can use immediately.
- Support from a Certified Nonviolent Communication Trainer.
- Connection with other adults facing similar challenges.
Come as you are — imperfect, tired, caring, and doing your best.
No Matter who you are – if you have children in your life and would like to explore ways of creating increased harmony – You are most welcome!
Even when we care deeply and try our best, many of us find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, reactive, stuck in power struggles, or unsure how to respond in ways that truly support connection — with children and with ourselves.
Over eight weekly sessions, we will explore:
- How to recognise and respond to stress before it escalates
- Understanding feelings and needs as the drivers behind behavior
- Practicing self-empathy when things feel hard
- Listening to children with empathy, even when we don’t agree
- Expressing boundaries and requests clearly, without blame or punishment
- Navigating conflict and power struggles with greater awareness and care
- Clear demonstrations
- Guided reflection and practical exercises
- Time to share real experiences in small, supportive groups
- Whole-group check-ins and takeaways to integrate learning
The emphasis throughout this course is on learning together, not getting it “right.” This is not about being perfect— it’s about building skills, understanding ourselves more deeply, and finding new choices in moments that matter.
The course is facilitated by a Certified Nonviolent Communication Trainer and held in a respectful, non-judgemental space where everyone is welcome.
