Sad news about one of our volunteers

Please take some moments to sit down for this news:

It is with such a heavy heart that we share the news that our dear friend and colleague Rik Midgley unexpectedly and tragically passed away on 27th October 2025 in a road traffic accident.

Rik volunteered for us, taking over the role of Membership Communicator in 2019 when another volunteer was unable to work at the time. He has faithfully stayed with us since then. Please bear with us as we grieve and find ways to pick up the work he did.

Rik was also a potter. Many people are grateful to have one of the beautiful mugs, bowls or jugs that Rik made as a dear memory of his living.

We are all starting to discover just how far and wide Rik’s love and passion for a more compassionate world spread, how wide-reaching his friends were in the UK, India and Kenya where he meditated and volunteered and no doubt more than we know. Somehow in his dying, that love is bringing many folk together and in remembrance we bond.

We sit in stillness and contemplation of life’s mysterious ways and the one knowing that nothing in this precious life can be taken for granted.

Rik Midgley

Today Rik, we hold your spirit with tenderness and care and sadness and gratitude.
May you always be remembered.

    Sorry to hear that
Well I don’t really believe we die so we may meet again.
    I am glad we met
