Cath Burke

Name: Cath Burke

Location: London, England

Since I came across NVC in 2006 it has slowly and profoundly shaped how I relate and the way I want and choose to live; I expect this to continue for the rest of my life!

I completed certification as a CNVC trainer in 2014 and currently offer foundation and intermediate trainings, residential workshops, individual coaching, plus development & integration groups, both online and in person in London.

I have a Needs-Based Coaching Certification and I've broadened my trauma-awareness by studying Polyvagal Theory and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

For over 20 years I've practised 5 Rhythms dance, a form of expressive movement meditation which helps people embody both a compassionate attitude and sense of personal empowerment. I qualified as a Teacher of Open Floor Movement Practice (www.openfloor.org) in 2018 and am a member of the International Conscious Movement Teachers Association. I love using conscious dance in residential workshops, held 3 times a year in Devon, UK, to help people embody NVC.

Another big influence has been Vipassana meditation - I was committed to a daily sitting practice and regular long retreats for nine years. Also in the mix is a foundation training in Core Process Psychotherapy and many years of personal therapy.

I have a PGCE in adult education and was an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher in Further Education for 18 years. I completed a degree in English and African Studies and an MA in Gender and Development. I trained and worked as a journalist for business and human rights publications.
