In this event, we will be lighting up the winter darkness by Composting .. Developing ideas … Hibernating Together! .. Resting Together! .. Storytelling … Getting Cosy …. Nurturing from the roots up

3 hrs of the event are dedicated to informal connection, co-creating, socialising

3 hours are dedicated to Creative Spaces

For the creative spaces, we have collected ideas for sessions that you would like to offer or that you would like someone else to offer.

We have:

Rest meditation

Gentle healing space for a moment of guilt and shame

All ages storytelling 

All ages craft activity

Singing

Deepening your listening practice

Arts for Dissolving enemy images to compost a conflict

All ages games

and a Mindful walk along the river is possible at any time

We have now received many suggestions/offers for sessions and we are no longer accepting any more. 

Islands of coherence

I also want to name together other intentions for coming together.  Right now in the world, when our explanations are being upended nonstop. We need to find our northstar.

‘When a complex system is far from equilibrium, small islands of coherence in a sea of chaos have the capacity to shift the entire system to a higher order’. Ilya Prigogine, Nobel prize winner  

Different people express the idea of ‘Small islands of coherence’ in different ways .. Charles Eisenstein calls it Islands of Sanity, Miki Kashtan says ‘Let’s surround the patriarchy with islands of love’. Our intention, for our island of coherence, needs to be really clear and tangible because when things get tense, as they always do, we get thrown off course and we lose connection with each other.  For me, in ‘an island of coherence’ is a place where, very simply,

We strive to stay connected through differences

Feelings and needs are welcome

We offer support. We ask for support.

Children are welcome. All ages are welcome.

11.30 -12.30  Opening circle + listening circle

12.30 – 1.30   Lunch

Logistics

It’s essential that you book a place. Please don’t just show up on the day as we need to track numbers. Our limit is 45 people.

No one denied entry for lack of funds – please make a request if you need a free or discounted place.

Funds raised will go towards venue hire and resource costs and also to contribute to the organising team’s sustainability. We want to make visible the fact that is a considerable amount of work to organise these events collaboratively. If some of you can donate at the higher end of the scale, this supports us in creating free places and receiving some income for the days of preparation this event involves.

 

All ages

This is an all ages event, which means children are welcome and there will be All ages Listening circle and Creative spaces. These aren’t children’s sessions, they are for all ages but child-friendly and/or child-centred. There is no request for financial contribution for children’s place, but please clearly state ages of children you are bringing to help us plan. Numbers are limited, so it’s essential to book.
