This is a 4 week deepening practice (On Thursday afternoons February 11th, 18th, 25th and March 4th) using the tools of NVC to strengthen our empathy skills with ourselves. Hear more about the series here. Course material covers:
  • Strengthen NVC skills of guessing feelings and needs
  • Various strategies of self-empathy
  • Key areas of the brain in relation to reactivity, trauma and empathy
  • The difference between being trauma-aware and trauma-treating
  • Empathy processes to integrate past pain and hurt (time-travel empathy)
  • Increasing your capacity to bring empathy to your life.
This series will encourage a deeply supportive environment for all of our past experiences, in a space of non-judgement. We will appreciate all we have done to keep ourselves safe and well, acknowledge how alone we have been at times and it’s a chance to provide some accompaniment for past pain through deep empathy for different experiences we have faced. Requirements to join these sessions
  • Foundation training essential.
  • You need to be able to be curious about feelings and needs and notice the difference between the feeling space and when you in 'story' or interpretation
  • Further  taught practice,  practice group, or an Intermediate level training preferred.
  • This is not an introduction to NVC. Please do not come if you are completely new to NVC.
I welcome contributions between £0-250 for these 4 sessions. Please choose according to your needs around sustainability. If you have capacity to pay the higher amount, you will enable me to keep offering this work and including people with limited income. What people are saying about this series “It’s so uplifting to be met where I am” June 2020 "After participating on the Ecology of Empathy course my understanding of self-empathy has deepened to the point where I'm sleeping well for the first time in years.. It's been a revelation!! It's making so much difference in my life." September 2020 "I feel very safe and encouraged, and it certainly is meeting my need for learning and enabling me to frame my personal history within an NVC framework rather than a psychological one. I have never come across a facilitation style as unique as yours and I have done myriad personal development courses!" September  2020
