Over two days we’ll cover the fundamental concepts of Nonviolent Communication through exercises, dialogue and discussion. In looking at the language we use and the impact it has on our relationship with ourselves and those around us, we will learn how to facilitate healthier and more meaningful connections in our lives.
At it’s core, NVC is about recognising when we’re in a state of judgement or blame towards ourselves and others, and navigating our way back to a more grounded, considered place, from which we can choose to act in full service of our needs and those of others in our lives. It’s a tool for connecting to ourselves and others.
Woven through the traditional NVC Foundation Training will be an exploration of how our different life experiences and situations can affect our interpersonal dynamics. This consideration of power, privilege and social inequities can mean that everyone is more likely to experience being seen and understood for their experience.
What will we explore in this workshop?
We plan to:
- Identify what’s important in any situation
- Enhance self-awareness and our capacity to name our experience in the moment
- Promote self-knowledge and self-advocacy
- Strengthen our capacity to acknowledge and lean into interdependence
- Name systemic conditions and their internalized impacts on our communication and relationships
- Acknowledge harm and impact in order to support healing and repair
- Develop our capacity to listen to anyone to get to the heart of the matter, even when we disagree with them
- Support healing and repair interpersonally and in our communities
- Explore creative strategies for healing that are aligned with our values
- Recognize and celebrate cultural attributes
What will the workshop structure be like?
We’ll include:
- Ample time for practice and questions
- Breaks for tea/coffee, snacks and lunch

Who will be leading the training?
Hi, my name’s Tom and I’ve been both studying and sharing NVC for more than 5 years now. My journey with NVC has been transformative, and I am eager to share it with others looking to find healthier, happier ways of being in the world. I was certified as a CNVC Certified Trainer in 2024. I’ll be the main point of contact and facilitator for this workshop.
How much will is cost?
We have a strong desire to make our workshops as accessible as possible, and operate on a sliding scale payment basis.
Requested prices –
£150 for those with a low/no income.
£225 for those with a moderate income.
£300 for those with a high income or being paid for by an organisation.

Previous workshop participants have been kind enough to say
“Tom was well prepared, grounded, present, and skillful in navigating the mixed levels of NVC experience in the group.”
“I was faced with a tricky conversation with my housemate this week and I’m so glad I took the time to reflect on what I’m learning about NVC before we spoke. It went so well!”
“Tom made it very easy to learn and the course fulfilled my hopes to get some practice. He took great care of everyone’s needs.”
“I feel like I can approach conflict more effectively now rather than trying to avoid it, and feel more comfortable to express myself.”
“Tom, I particularly appreciated your leadership in demonstrating the practice through your personal experience and vulnerability. Your openness allowed the group to take responsibility and risk together, working through a variety of personal dilemmas. Your presence in observing the breakout groups and offering supportive guidance truly helped deepen our process.”
We look forward to meeting you if you feel drawn to coming along.
