NVC Role Play Club (Series 6)

Role Play Club is back for its sixth series! Woohoo! Here’s a short video of Pamela, who joined us at the previous two series of role play club and is coming back again to this one.

This invitation is aimed specifically at certification candidates
traveling the path to becoming a *Certified Trainer* with the *Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC).*

NVC Role Play Club is brought to you by Barry Jones (*CNVC* Certified Trainer) and Ember Burns. They bring groundedness, vulnerability, fun, energy and inclusive and engaging facilitation (we invite you to assess who brings more or less of these qualities).

We’re on a mission to make life easier for people practising and embodying NVC who maybe longing for more ease and fluency when situations get hard, the stakes are high and where the connection really matters.  So we invite those longing to learn and develop their NVC skills and consciousness through role play to join us.

We offer a dedicated online space to practice, build skills and fluency using NVC through role play.   The keyword in here is ‘play‘, because that is how we approach this work to model and nurture in service of supporting us with the serious and profound work that can often come through this practice.

It all began with an offer from Ember to support Barry as he prepared for his assessment event. Luckily Barry took the bait and Ember prepared a few experimental formats for Barry to practice in (Warning those stunts were preformed by unprofessional NVC practitioners do not under any circumstances attempt at home).  It was a lot of fun, and really contributed to Barry’s capacity to deliver a profound and energised role play at assessment.  So after Barry became a Certified Trainer he wanted to bring something of that to other candidates, and with this in mind he approached Ember.  Together they developed NVC Role Play Club!

When?

Role play club will be held fortnightly online. You are invited to join the community for an initial three month period and attend all of the 6 sessions. We imagine this will help to build a sense of community and safety to support practice, vulnerability, and growth.

What?

The scenarios will be selected from the CNVC Certification Preparation Packet or from real life examples that role play club members suggest.

We will mirror how role plays are conducted at assessment events organised by the English Speaking European Assessment Team (ESEAT).  Annnnnnd we also have some new juicy scenarios we can role play with.

We have developed playful ways to choose who steps into which role.  Those witnessing are also included in the invitation to offer value based feedback for role players.

Money!

We are continuing our experiment offering NVC Role Play Club in the spirit of gift culture, with the wish that it is financially sustainable for everyone involved.

To participate in NVC Role Play Club, the initial community membership is for three months (6 session’s) on a sliding scale of £300 – £120. After three months you can continue your membership at a sliding scale of £100 – £40 per month.  We want this to be sustainable for the whole community including our needs as facilitators, we invite you to consider what feels sustainable for you.

We don’t want access to financial resources to be a barrier to becoming a member of the community. If our requests around money isn’t sustainable for you, please get in touch.

Spaces will be limited to around 10 people, to support connection, depth and room for practice.
