In times of crazy turmoil - whether in the world, in our relationships or in our own inner life, we often long to be able to stay compassionate, to be able to manage our emotions and reactions in ways that do not harm others or ourselves. We want our choices, words and actions to be in alignment with our hearts and truth. During this day we will explore how NVC can support us to : - remain centred and keep our hearts open under pressure - convert anger, judgment and blame into the life-affirming needs that connect us to our deeper selves and to others - cope with potentially overwhelming feelings of anger, helplessness, guilt, despair, fear or grief – whatever the scale - develop greater empathy, acceptance and understanding of ourselves and others with whom we are in conflict. - identify some practical steps towards meeting needs such as integrity, harmony, inner calm, balance, contribution and change. There will be plenty of opportunities for supported personal practice. This workshop is suitable for anyone who has completed at least a 2-day Foundation training. You may also have been attending a Practice group or participated in further NVC workshops, but they are not requirements for benefiting from this day. SAMPLE FEEDBACK: “Liz is without a doubt one of the best trainers I have ever come across. She's warm, welcoming, funny, and encouraging. She knows her stuff inside out and is incredibly skilled at energetically leading others into the territory that is clearly her passion. The training is both stimulating and inspiring." “I feel joy in my heart when I think back to the AGS workshop. During the workshop I found your support, energy and input inspirational. As a result of that, I view myself differently. I treasure the emotional nourishment I received through the learning process.” “My deep appreciation for the warmth, humour, compassion and skill in your teaching of the course. I was grateful for and impressed by your ability to quickly create a safe space in the group, and I found the way you listened to and offered your presence to each of us very beautiful ....an embodiment of the practice, an inspiration”. “I liked the precision of the training principles and approach. Just as important, though, I appreciated your supportive presence. I perceived you as doing this in a low-key way that allowed me to benefit by it almost without noticing that it was happening. It was great to be able to take a piece of work another step forward and gives me hope that when dialogue becomes possible there's a real chance of resolution”. “As a fellow teacher, I delight in watching your people management skills, and wondered if people there knew how you were working to keep inclusiveness, lightness, pace, balance, etc. I so enjoyed observing this management and teaching skill in action, and found it very inspiring for my own work”. “I want to let you know just how valuable your work and knowledge is to us. It is extremely helpful to my understanding of communication in my work in conflict resolution. “I found your presentation style very satisfying. It was informative, clear, energised, diverse and well presented”. “Fun, enriching, supportive, & a great learning experience!. My thanks to Liz for her boundless energy, enthusiasm, laughter, fun, experience, and the gift of being able to share, connect and teach with such clarity.”
