We invite NVC practitioners to join us in an exploration of how dynamics of power and privilege might live within the ways we practice and offer NVC.  We will look at:
  • How certain dominant ideas and ways of doing things can be unconsciously centered as ‘the norm’...therefore, what we might be unconsciously reproducing as ‘the norm’ and ‘other’
  • What impacts does this have and on whom?
  • A space for grieving and being in our discomfort as a pathway to liberation and integrity
  • How we can bring systemic consciousness and engagement to our NVC practice and sharing
  • Decolonising NVC and moving beyond [Patriarchy] domination systems
  • The joy and creativity of creating Access and Inclusion in our work and networks
  • Returning flow and abundance to a living system of NVC sharing
We will combine embodied practices, spiritual approaches, conceptual learning and mapping, applied to our real life experiences. We embody positivity and enthusiasm to embrace discomfort and experiences that may be different to our own. We value this kind of space as an exciting possibility for profound connection and transformation. We invite you to reach for your honest, courageous, reflective self, put on your systemic goggles, break the violence cycle, get beyond the myth of separation, find your dynamic shared identities, and walk towards 'the other' with OpenEdge's experienced team of scholar-practitioner-explorers! ***This event will be run with financial co-responsibility. We are sharing our costs and invite you to make a contribution of your choosing towards meeting them. We are asking for a non-refundable deposit of £75 through Eventbrite to book your place so we can have some certainty we are going ahead. If this is a barrier to you joining us please get in touch with info@openedge.org.uk to explore options with us. We will ask for financial contributions on the second day of the event. What is Financial Co-responsibility? We will share with you what it costs us to put on this event, and what we need to ‘take home’ to make doing such work sustainable for us. We will do so by sharing information, as well as sharing our meaning, purpose, passion and impacts -so you can be connected to the life of this event, our work and us. We will support you to consider your own access to resources, therefore your access to choice about how to spend/use them. We will support you to reflect upon the value of the experience together with the group at this retreat. We will ask you to consider what you would like to and are able to offer towards covering all financial needs for the retreat, for everyone involved. If there are financial needs around participating in this event that you wish to ask support for from the group, there is also a possibility for this. We ask you to join us on this retreat, ready to engage in this financial co-responsibility, as part of our NVC consciousness and practice. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact us at info@openedge.org.uk and we can have a chat. please book via eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/open-edge-transforming-conflict-10880323837
