A weekend workshop aimed at cultivating compassion and fostering deeper connections within your relationships.

Discover the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), the framework developed by Dr Marshall Rosenberg in the 1970s. Through individual and group exercises and discussion, together we will learn how to navigate challenges with grace and achieve a more harmonious state of mind.

NVC offers a lens through which to better understand each other, supporting us to connect in a more empathic way by working through judgements and right / wrong thinking to discover what we really want. It’s a useful tool for –

On the personal level…
Self-regulation of our nervous systems when we find ourselves unsettled.
Discovering what we want and getting creative about how to achieve it.
Making choices and resolving inner conflicts.
Cultivating good self-care and resilience for difficult times.

Inter-personally…
Listening empathically.
Expressing ourselves honestly.
Giving and receiving feedback.
Resolving conflicts.

This two-day Foundation Training serves as an essential introduction to NVC, providing a solid groundwork for delving into advanced topics such as empathy, conflict resolution, and assertiveness. This workshop will provide a nurturing environment for personal growth and self-discovery.

Hi, my name’s Tom and I’ve been studying and sharing NVC for 5 years and am excited to be offering this Foundation Training in my hometown.

My journey with NVC has been transformative, and I am eager to share it with others looking to find healthier, happier ways of being in the world.

I like to offer a systemic perspective when sharing NVC, which incorporates an examination of how the topics of power and privilege affect our lives and relationships. We’ll be exploring how this framework can be helpful on the personal, interpersonal, and wider community levels. My awareness in this regard infuses my workshops with a sensitivity that offers participants a safe space to explore the work.

Our venue, Hebden Bridge Town Hall, is conveniently located right at the heart of the town.

Parking facilities are available in nearby town center car parks, and the venue has excellent public transportation links, easily accessible by bus and train from Halifax, Leeds, Manchester, and beyond.

I have a strong commitment to making my workshops accessible to everyone, and so I operate on a ‘gift economy’ basis, welcoming all who wish to engage with this work. While I strive to make my workshops accessible to everyone, I also recognise the importance of sustaining my livelihood.

As such, I kindly request those with the means to contribute to do so in alignment with the suggested pricing of £80 – £250. However, I encourage attendees to offer what feels comfortable for them, free from external pressures or expectations. No questions asked.

Suggested prices –

£80 for those with a low/unwaged income.

£150 for those who feel financially comfortable.

£250 for those who would like to support others with fewer resources to attend.

You may also choose to pay nothing before the workshop and decide how much you’d like to contribute by reflecting on it once you get back home.

Previous workshop participant have been kind enough to say –

“I’m so inspired! I’ve ordered Marshall’s book, subscribed to podcasts… I’m taking away a thirst for more knowledge about NVC.”

“I loved how calm and inviting the facilitation was.”

“Tom was well prepared, grounded, present, and skillful in navigating the mixed levels of NVC experience in the group.”

Looking forward to connecting with whoever feels drawn to come along. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me at tom.wilkinson@collective.tools, and I’ll be happy to help.
