Whatever our longings, many of us experience life as separate individuals, competing in scarcity for rightness, resources, and belonging. This leads to division and separation, within each of us through how we experience ourselves, in our relationships with each other and life, and in the world around us.

This course offers a consciousness and tools that can help reveal and transform the mechanisms of the domination system we have inherited, internalised and continue to reproduce that create this picture. It offers a pathway to recovering power and agency, restoring connection and being in compassionate relationship with ourselves, each other and life.

Together we will build the muscles to walk ourselves into this emerging paradigm of living and relating. Where we can meet what arises with care, hold it collaboratively, and engage with it as an invitation to realign with the flow of vital energy in our interdependent living system.

During this course, you will

  • Shift out of right/wrong deficit thinking and the blame game, into compassion for yourself and others
  • Learn and practice tools to express yourself with authenticity whilst holding compassionate boundaries
  • Build capacity to meet what emerges and receive others fully, and with resonance and empathy, whilst staying in your power, even when you disagree
  • Transform life limiting beliefs and programs you are running
  • Explore what it is to use power “with” others
  • Bring a systemic lens to individual experience
  • Experience difference as enriching rather than threatening
  • Engage with conflict to find what really matters
  • Look at personal and collective accountability and responsibility
  • Reorientate so rather than problems coming between you, others, life, you can hold the dilemma’s revealed with care and interdependence.
  • Lead for the world your heart is longing for

This course is facilitated by Sophie Docker:

Sophie has been offering her flavour of Nonviolent Communication since 2014 which takes a systemic, embodied approach.  She brings in the skills and learning she has developed through supporting many individuals, organisations and communities to engage with each other compassionately, transform moments of difficulty and align with their values.

She is a certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication and is a Restorative Practice and Transformative Justice practitioner and works coaching individuals, training groups, facilitating people through tension and consulting on non-punitive ways of organising.

She works in various collaborations including with charity OpenEdge Transforming Conflict whose focus is power, identity and difference, and The Restorative Engagement Forum who work with organisations to embed restorative ways of working and train conflict facilitators to engage with conflict across a range of sectors.

This course offers a foundation in the embodied, relational, needs based approach that underpins her work.

Who is it for?

  • Individuals who would like to grow their personal and professional skills and capacities to meet what emerges in their lives transformatively
  • People who are keen to embed these ways of being in their lives, organisations, groups or communities.

This is a certificated NVC Foundation Course. On completion you will get a certificate and have completed 14hr training with a certified trainer.

“Your workshop has been truly transformative for me. As emotions, feelings and inner voices flow through me, exposing unmet needs and desires I feel like I’m waking up from a long sleep.”
