If you feel strongly about something, it is because something really matters. It matters to you, and it matters to the relationship and systems you are part of. It is something coming into the field of awareness that needs attention.
These moments of strong feeling can either create more polarisation and separation or be the invitation to recover power and compassion and reconnect to the flow of life, transforming historic systemic experiences and a process of restoring, adapting and evolving as part of a living system.
Over hundreds of years of a system based on separation and scarcity “normal” ways engaging can be transactional and about using each other and the natural environment instrumentally to achieve outcomes. Restorative practice and a needs based approach as offered in Nonviolent Communication offers a way out of this, to build the muscles to experience ourselves and others as vital nerve endings of an interdependent system.
