A Journey Into Empathy is a 5-day retreat focused on cultivating understanding and compassion. Empathy creates connection and strengthens existing relationships, in all areas of our lives. It can bridge temperamental, cultural and religious differences.
About this Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Intermediate/Advanced Training
On this retreat you will practise the skills you’ve learned on your Level One NVC Training (Foundation) plus develop further understanding and skills in the area of empathy:
- Review and practice the basic ingredients of NVC.
- Share the ups and downs of applying NVC in your life.
- Be able to self-empathize in challenging situations.
- Be able to hear the needs behind challenging messages.
- Discover the healing power of presence.
- Connect empathically with yourself and others.

- Create honest and authentic connection with yourself and others.

Venue/accommodation
Accommodation is in twin or triple bedrooms at the venue Cal Viso. Cal Viso is an eighteenth century farmhouse located in the heart of Catalunya, only one hour from Barcelona, Girona and Andorra. The natural surroundings, with beautiful views of the peaceful Catalan countryside will invite you to feel a sense of space and inner peace.
Our host and translator: Delia Aguila
Delia began her journey with Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in the UK four years ago and is now based in Barcelona, working toward NVC trainer certification. An extrovert by nature, Delia thrives on meeting new people, exploring diverse cultures, and deepening her self-awareness through life’s experiences and challenges.
Our chef: Alba
We will be catered for by our chef Alba. She will provide us with vegetarian meals with adapatations as needed. Food is included in the fee – see below.
Method and style of working
We’ll be looking for a balance of structure and flexibility. Structured activities allow you to learn a process that you can take away with you and share with others. Flexibility means going with what’s alive in the room.
Preparation
We ask that you have done an NVC Level One (Foundation) course of at least two days with a CNVC-certified trainer. We are offering such a Level One course online starting 26 Feb.
