Fostering Hope, Understanding & Peace

There is plenty out there to tell us what a mess the world is in. You don’t need us for that. The question we’re asking ourselves is how do we keep a balance where we don’t find ourselves turning a blind eye AND where we keep ourselves afloat so those in the midst of it are continuing to be witnessed and supported. Finding a balance while ensuring we don’t run and hide like I find myself needing to do sometimes AND checking in with ourselves daily for overwhelm feels like a daily battle.

Whether the topics of the state of the world are discussed or not, time with my NVC family feels like a balm. We so need each other. I found a quote recently that I love,

‘Nonviolent Communication is a process for creating the quality of connection out of which people are more likely to want to contribute to one another’s well-being.’

It’s a definition I am yet to see and it’s got to be my favourite. Marshall Rosenberg describes NVC as a language of life that is closer to the truth than what we say when our needs aren’t being met.

It fosters our sense of belonging to have you share with us where you find yourself and what questions you sit with. We have a request that you consider sharing your reflections on what you and the world around you need. We look forward to opening a dialogue with you so please get in touch with us at tamara@nvcmatters.org.uk. Thank you for being part of the conversation.
